Mentorship
Learn from those who
have done it.
The Fractional Institute mentorship programme pairs practitioners with senior fractional executives who have built and sustained their own practices. Not coaches. Not consultants. Operators who are doing the work.
How It Works
Structured mentorship, not informal advice.
Most mentorship in the fractional space is informal, ad hoc, and dependent on personal networks. The Institute formalises this into a structured programme with clear expectations on both sides.
Mentors are drawn from Certified Fractional Executives and Senior Fellows who have demonstrated sustained success in fractional practice. They bring pattern recognition that no curriculum alone can provide.
Every mentorship pairing is based on functional specialisation, career stage, and the specific challenges the mentee is navigating. This is not random assignment - it is deliberate matching.
Monthly one-to-one sessions with a defined agenda and progress framework. Each session builds on the previous one. Mentors are trained in the Institute's facilitation model.
Mentorship is embedded in the programme structure. For mentees, it accelerates development. For mentors, it contributes toward Senior Fellow designation.
Two Sides of the Programme
For mentees and mentors alike.
You gain a confidential thinking partner who has navigated the exact challenges you are facing - pricing your first engagement, managing scope with difficult clients, building pipeline without burning relationships. This is not generic career coaching. It is discipline-specific guidance from someone who has operated in your seat.
Mentoring is one of the pathways to Senior Fellow designation. Certified Fractional Executives who have maintained active practice for two or more years are invited to apply as mentors. You give back to the community that supported your own development while deepening your leadership within the Institute.
The Senior Fellow Pathway
Mentorship is how the Institute sustains itself.
Senior Fellow designation is not purchased or applied for. It is conferred on Certified Fractional Executives who have maintained active practice and contributed meaningfully to the Institute community - including mentorship.
This creates a self-sustaining cycle: practitioners earn their credential, build their practice, and then help the next cohort do the same. The mentorship programme is the mechanism that makes this possible.
